9.8" Rare, Giant Fossil Frog (Latonia) - Gračanica, Bosnia

This is a superb example of the rare fossil frog, Latonia sp., collected from a miocene-aged deposit in Gračanica, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Due to the fragile nature of these frog bones, finding a specimen of this preservation quality and completeness is quite uncommon. It's mid-air posture makes this specimen that much more alluring. It's truly a breathtaking fossil specimen.

From its head to its distal-most toe, this frog measures 9.8" long. It's nicely centered on an 11.6 x 7.9" slab of stabilized rock.

The fossil is accompanied by an acrylic & metal display stand.
