6.9" Pliocene Fossil Scallop (Nodipecten) - North Carolina

This is a beautiful fossil scallop (Nodipecten peedeensis) half that was collected from the Pliocene age Yorktown Formation in Aurora, North Carolina. The surrounding rock has been completely cleaned away from the specimen. This specimen has taken some damage during preservation and extraction but is otherwise very nice.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
