HONEYCOMB CALCITE FOR SALE

Honeycomb calcite is the name given to a sunny variety of calcite found exclusively in the southwestern Uinta Range in Utah. Its color varies from deep orange to lemony yellow, and is often crisscrossed by whitish veins, giving it a honeycomb appearance. It is often quite translucent and polishes well, making it a popular stone for decoration and lapidary work.

This is also the state stone of Utah as of 2021: it is featured in a mural of honeycomb, a state symbol, at the state capitol building in Salt Lake City.
