The pictures are representative of the clusters you will receive, but don't show the exact specimens. Quantity discounts are available.

Amethyst is variety of quartz that owes its purple color to a combination of iron impurities and exposure to natural radiation caused by the nuclear decay of surrounding rocks. Amethyst is considered a semi-precious gemstone which just two centuries ago was considered to have a value on par with diamonds, sapphires and rubies. Today large quantities of amethyst is mined from ancient basalt flows in Brazil and Northern Uruguay where geodes formed in trapped gas bubbles.
