6.3" Polished Lazurite Sphere - Madagascar

This is a polished lazurite sphere, mined and crafted in Madagascar. Lazurite is the blue component of the mineral Lapis Lazuli. Lazurite is a deep blue to greenish blue, commonly containing, or is associated with grains of pyrite. In the right light, the sphere can appear to be a small galaxy with the pyrite grains sparkling like stars.

This specimen comes with a stand. There is a 1" section of this sphere that chipped away and was repaired with a clear epoxy prior to polishing, hence the reduced price.
