3.1" Sulfur Crystals in Matrix - Italy

This is a beautiful, 3.1" wide sulfur crystal cluster, collected from the Cianciana Mine in Sicily, Italy. The crystals on the specimen are beautifully formed and still partially encased in matrix.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.

The chemical composition of sulfur crystal is S8, meaning 8 sulfur atoms bonded together to form a sulfur molecule. The crystal structure is typically tabular or as blocky dipyramids that form in sedimentary rock.
