Flat: 2-3" Jurassic Ammonites From England - 35 Pieces

This is a wholesale flat of 35 Lower Jurassic ammonite fossils collected in Somerset, England. There are several species represented and they range from 2" to 3.2" in length

At $210 for the lot, that is only $6 per ammonite and they can easily retail for 2-3 times that price on average. Each ammonite comes with it's own identification card.

Ammonites were predatory cephalopod mollusks that resembled squids with spiral shells. They are more closely related to living octopuses, though their shells resemble that of nautilus species. True ammonites appeared in the fossil record about 240 million years ago during the Triassic Period. The last lineages disappeared 65 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous.
