This is a wholesale bag of silver iridescent ammonite fossils from Madagascar. There is 1 kg (20 pieces) of ammonites ranging in size from 2-3" wide. There are several different species represented. These ammonites are Middle Cretaceous in age or approximately 110 million years old.

You will receive the exact bag of ammonites in the picture. These are great for gifts, resale or making jewelry.

Ammonites were predatory cephalopod mollusks that resembled squids with spiral shells. They are more closely related to living octopuses, though their shells resemble that of nautilus species. True ammonites appeared in the fossil record about 240 million years ago during the Triassic Period. The last lineages disappeared 65 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous.
