Large, 4.1" Pseudoasahinus tecticaudatus - Vilpovitsy Quarry, Russia

This is a large, 4.1" long example of Pseudoasahinus tecticaudatus (Steinhardt, 1874) from the Vilpovitsy Quarry in the St. Petersburg region of Russia. It is perfectly prone and has large eyes. It was acquired as part of a collection of rare and exceptional specimens which was being sold. Like nearly all of the ordovician trilobites from this area it does have shell restoration where it flaked during collection. It's spread out across the thorax and right cheek of the trilobite.
