Fossil Leaf, Bark Fragment, Springtail, and True Midge In Baltic Amber
This 44 million year old piece of Baltic amber contains two preserved fossil insects, a leaf, and a bark fragment. The insects include a springtail (subclass Collembola) and a true midge (order Diptera - family Chironomidae).
