9.1" Fossil Sycamore Leaf (Macginitiea) - Montana

These are two plant fossils from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The plate consists of the species Macginitiea nobilis (9.15 x 6.9") and a partially covered Zizyphoides flabellum (2.75" wide). The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection.

This specimen includes an acrylic-metal display stand.
