3.05" Asaphus Lepidurus Trilobite - Very Large For Species

This is a very large specimen of the Ordovician trilobite Asaphus lepidurus. It was collected from the Putilovo quarry in the St. Petersburg region of Russia. It's just over 3" long and nicely layed out on the light colored limestone.

Like nearly all of the trilobites from these layers there is some shell restoration as the shell tends to flake during collection. There is about 12% shell restoration, mostly on the front of the head and along the repaired crack running on the left hand side of the thorax.
