1.7" Fossil Monocot (Tube Flowers) - Green River Formation

This is a very nice fossil plant from the 18 inch layer of the Green River Formation. It is a cluster of undescribed Monocot flowers commonly referred to as "tube flowers". These flowers are among several Monocot families found in the Green River Formation. Monocots are angiosperms in which the major veins run parallel to each other along the length of the leaf. There are likely multiple species of Monocot flowers yet to be described from the location.
