1.7" Silurian Brachiopod Fossil (Conchidium) - Tennessee

This is a 1.7" wide silurian brachiopod of, what we believe to be, the species Conchidium tenuicostatum. It was collected from the Brownsport Formation in Perry County, Tennessee. This specimen stands out among the mass of other crushed shells it was found upon. It is a rather interesting display piece and a testament to the resilience of the brachiopod over the other organisms during the fossilization process.
